Lovely Gite in Normandy
We booked La Maison de Cassandre a couple of days before arrival as we were already in France, and were looking for a rural base close to the D-day beaches to go and explore some of the history in the area. This cottage turned out to be absolutely perfect for the job, being very close to many of the places you might want to visit from a WW2 sites point of view. There is a local Coci market a short walk across the field. The beach is about a 4km bike ride away. It has a nice garden, quite secluded. I was very pleased with the house, which is a charming rustic cottage. I think the owner must be a chef as the kitchen is very well equipped and all that is needed to prepare lovely meals is available. All the plumbimg worked well, with a nice clean shower room, never any shortage of hot water whilst we were there. I think those that live in a cosy characterful old house in the countryside will feel right at home in La Maison do Cassandre, if you prefer an urban, spotless, minamalist white box, then perhaps look for a hotel! If we ever need to stay in the area again, I would have no hesitation in returning to La Maison de Cassandre, as it ticks all the boxes for me. Thanks for sharing your home.
