Positive: Great location very close to the cathedral and restaurants. Negative: The apartment was advertised in booking.com that it had private parking which it did not. We found some parking but it wasn’t ideal as the parking was why we made this booking. The induction burner did not work and needed to get it looked at. Management came the next day and fixed it. Bathroom fan would cut out after a few seconds. Toilet needed a scrub.

First time we ever immediately checked back out of a property.
Positive: Location Negative: Host showed up late to meet us. No air conditioning available. Host suggested we leave windows open to get air. On a ground floor, that did not seem safe to us. Spoke very little English, communication was hard. The door double deadbolt situation was very odd. It took the host several minutes to get into the door. Communicating via Booking.com app was good at first and then nothing. We immediately found another hotel and called host to come back meet us to get keys. She came in to get keys and I had to remind her to check the apartment that we had not used or damaged anything. We lost our money for 2 nites stay, but security of no open windows and air conditioning was necessary for peace of mind.

Strip the beds, do the dishes take out the trash. When I am on vacation I don’t do those things. We also had no WiFi while there. It was very chilly because it was spring. Since we are not European we had no idea how to turn on the heat. It took a while to figure it out. The best part of this stay was the location. They circumvented booking.com by demanding a security deposit after we had paid through booking.com. I still don’t have my security deposit back so as of now it cost us €200.00 more!

Positive: We thought the location had potential. Negative: Very very small. We left after the first night when the hot water stopped during my shower with a head full of conditioner. The water turned ice cold and never returned to any warmth. I ended up rinsing my hair out 45 minutes later with ice cold water bent over trying not to freeze. The host never answered our texts for assistance. The instructions also required the trash to be taken out to a specific container before we left and to strip the sheets from the bed...wow. Would not recommend.

I made a cup of tea, and there was scum on top of the liquid. Almost out of soap for bath & kitchen. When pointed out to Lorene, she said nothing, and no soap was brought in. Toilet was almost unhinged from the unit. Deadbolts on the front door made me wonder what the problem was with Bayeux community. wouldn’t go back to this place.

We recommend parking on Ave Sadi Carnot as it’s around the corner from the apartment and you can park there for free for a day or two. Most parking places in Bayeux have a 3-4 hour limit.

Okay...this is probably going to be an interesting review and hopefully it will help the host improve his customer service skills, and other guests before they decide to book at this Airbnb, Location was excellent! right in the heart of town, practically across the cathedral, lots of nice restaurants nearby, and places to park are close by too , the apartment was ok, much smaller than what you can actually see on the photos, nice bathroom, renovated, comfortable shower (hot water didn't last long) , ok queen size bed, But .... the host: we got an email with their phone number, so I decided to text him directly, to ask wether we could check in a little earlier (established check in time was between 5 and 7pm... a little late I think..) he said yes, so that was not a problem, then he asked if I could warn him some 20 minutes before arrival, which we did, and when we finally arrived (tired , after lots of driving) in Bayeux, find a parking spot etc, we waited like for 10 minutes (that's ok) for Laureen to arrive, she was polite,she gave us the keys, she requested that we leave the dishes clean (normal..) but here comes the interesting part: they also wanted us to undo the bed , leave the used sheets on the floor !! (excuse me , that's not my job! ) and they also demanded that we didn't leave any garbage whatsoever in the trash cans , and she explained we had to walk a few streets up to get rid of the garbage... our stay was good, we did not eat at the apartment at all, check out time comes,and we had agreed the night before, that we would leave between 10.30 and 11am , and that I would send them a text half an hour in advance to let them know ,the exact departure hour, they said ok, Sunday morning comes, and at 10.15am I send them a text (as we had agreed the night before) saying that we will be leaving the apartment at 11am , and they immediately respond "we are sorry, the cleaning lady is already on her way, and she will be there at 10.30 " , so we had to literally run back to the apartment, and the cleaning lady gets there at 10.30am , I request that she checks the premises to make sure everything is in order , she says yes , everything okay, but she insisted that we take care of the garbage , we had a tiny bag (she can attest to that) , and we told her that we understand it's not her fault, but that we thought it was ridiculous for us (tourists) to take care of a tiny garbage bag , but we did it anyway , long story short, I think Frederick (or whoever runs this property) has no idea what good customer service means ! so even if the apartment was okay, the location was excellent, I would not go back , lots of great hosts on Airbnb to be dealing with all sorts of annoying demands when you are traveling...!!!

Only one soap dispenser was available which had to be moved from the bathroom to the kitchen as needed... Room is much smaller than it appears in the ad... The location is perfect, and for being near to the Cathedral and the Tapestry Museum, it is very quiet. There are numerous restaurants very close by. The apartment is well equipped and the bed is comfortable. Frederic is prompt with his replies and our check in and out were very easy. The apartment is small, but comfortable for two people.

Great location 10 minute walk from train station. Close to Cathedral and multiple dining locations very comfortable 2 room apartment. Hosts were very helpful in coordinating check-in.

Could not have asked for a better location, close to restaurants, practically across the street from the beautiful cathedral, bed was ok, bathroom renovated and nice (not lots of hot water though...) and the apartment was clean, quiet for sleeping even though is in the heart of town, I highly recommend it for a short stay ! On the downside: we didn't leave any trash behind bc we never ate at the apartment, but apparently if we had had trash, we had to walk a few streets (didn't quite understand where) to dispose of it, and they were adamant about us taking care of the garbage ourselves... The apartment is much smaller in real life than what you can see in the pictures posted on the site, but if you are busy doing sightseeing ( D day sies close to Bayeux) it's totally ok
